Keep-on-track! sessions at the 12th Inter-Parliamentary Meeting on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency
Organized by: EUFORES
Location: Athens, Greece
Venue: Hellenic Parliament

The afternoon of the first day of the 12thInter-Parliamentary Meeting on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (IPM12) was entirely organised in the framework of Keep-on-track!. It started with four regional workshops which provided constructive discussion platforms on the topic of renewable energy with representatives from the respective regions (Southern and Mediterranean, North-Western, Baltic and Scandinavian, Central and South-Eastern Europe). These regional workshops ran in parallel sessions and were set up to facilitate the discussion of renewables on the national, regional and local level amongst MEPs, MPs and stakeholders from the region. Each session was chaired by a national Member of Parliament from the respective region, as well as a project partner expert from the national renewable energy associations to bring in a non-governmental regional expert perspective. The session following the regional workshops was dedicated to discussing how to “Keep renewables markets on track to reach the 2020 goals”. This session was chaired by Noel Coonan, an Irish Member of Parliament, and it started with an input speech from Christian Panzer, scientific project partner of Keep-on-track!, followed by a discussion on the topic. Paul Hodson from the European Commission and Rainer Hinrichs-Rahlwes, President of the European Renewable Energy Council and project partner, were also part of this discussion panel.
