EUFORES 14th Inter-Parliamentary Meeting on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (IPM14)

This 14th Inter-Parliamentary Meeting was organised in close cooperation with the Portuguese Parliament, hosted by the Committee on Environment, Territorial Planning and Local Government and the Committee on Economics and Public Works. Friday morning of the conference was dedicated entirely to the discussion of energy efficiency. Firday afternoon and Saturday morning were organised around the topic of renewable energy, including a panel debate on the EU 2030 Framework for Climate and Energy Policies amounst members of parliament of various national parliaments and the European Parliament. There were also focused sessions on interconnectors and the hot topic of energy security. On Saturday, the Keep on Track! project results were presented to the conference participants. There was also a very productive and intimate World Café session on the barriers to the development of RES identified within the project. 

 

IPM14 was attended by around 130 participants, of which over two thirds came from national and the European parliaments, active in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency. Members of Parliament from 23 EU Member States and 2 Candidate Countries were represented. Other participants of this 'upon invitation only' based conference, included representatives from the Portuguese government, the European Commission and selected scientific and industry representatives.
